David Harbour Denies Spoiling Doctor Doom Line in Avengers: Doomsday
Speaking at New York Comic Con, the Red Guardian actor said the line he actually gave was his character counting down from five.
David Harbour denied at New York Comic Con that he had spoiled a line from Avengers: Doomsday implying that Doctor Doom is revealed to be Tony Stark. Speaking to ScreenRant at the convention, the actor said he did not recall saying that line.
Harbour, who plays Red Guardian in the Marvel Studios film, said the out-of-context line he had actually given was his character counting down from five. He added that something very important happens after the countdown ends, without saying what.
The confusion traces back to August, when Variety interviewed Harbour and he delivered the out-of-context line "You … are Tony Stark." In December, Robert Downey Jr. was announced to be playing Doctor Doom in the film.
Avengers: Doomsday is set for release on December 18, 2026, and is the first Avengers film in seven years.
