DC Comics introduced a new hero named Wombat in Supergirl #18, according to Screen Rant. Written by Sophie Campbell with colors by Tamra Bonvillain and letters by Becca Carey, the issue brings Wombat into Supergirl's team Super Force and gives her quarters in the new Fortress of Solidarity base.
In the issue, Wombat fights Nightflame after Nightflame objects to her joining Super Force. Wombat has enhanced strength, short clawed fingers and extreme durability, and her skull breaks Nightflame's sword during the confrontation.
Supergirl #18 also sees Supergirl lose her powers after being exposed to Gold Kryptonite by the mercenary Reactron. Upcoming issues will have Nightflame, Thundergirl and new recruit Matrix vying to take on the Supergirl name while Kara returns to college.
Background
