Disney to Replace Broken Yeti in Expedition Everest, Rohde Says
Former Imagineer Joe Rohde says the Yeti animatronic at Disney's Animal Kingdom will be swapped for a new figure rather than repaired.
Former Imagineer Joe Rohde revealed that the Yeti animatronic inside Expedition Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom will be replaced entirely rather than repaired, according to Collider.
Rohde said Disney plans to install a new figure in place of the existing one, which has been unable to move inside the mountain for almost 20 years.
According to Rohde, Imagineers believe they have found a solution, though he does not know exactly what the replacement figure will do.
In August, at D23, Disney announced that Imagineers would bring the Yeti back to life via repairs.
The new plan Rohde describes would instead swap the figure out for a new one.
