Disney's Hexed Team Details Billie Doe, Voiced by Hailee Steinfeld
Producers Yvett Merino and Roy Conli and co-director Jason Hand say Billie Doe makes bad choices because she doesn't know she's a witch.
Disney's animated film Hexed centers on Billie Doe, a young witch voiced by Hailee Steinfeld, the film's producers and a co-director said in an interview with MovieWeb. The character was discussed ahead of the film's scheduled release on November 25, 2026.
Billie is described as a character who makes bad choices because she does not understand that she is a witch. In the film, Rashida Jones provides the voice of Billie's mother, Alice, who keeps big secrets from her daughter.
Producer Yvett Merino compared Billie to her own 11-year-old daughter, saying the character feels real. Co-director Jason Hand explained that Billie's poor decisions stem from her not realizing she is a witch.
Hexed is directed by Jason Hand, Fawn Veerasunthorn and Josie Trinidad. Merino and Roy Conli serve as producers.
