Bangkok-based sales company Diversion has acquired world sales rights to The Ink-Stained Hand and a Missing Thumb, the debut feature from director Yashasvi Juyal, according to Variety. The film premiered in the Proxima Competition at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

Mai Meksawan closed the deal for Diversion with Yashasvi Juyal of Silvercord Films.

The film is set to have its Asian premiere in the Asian Feature Film Competition at the Singapore International Film Festival. Diversion will also represent the title at the Busan International Film Festival's Asian Contents & Film Market.

Background

The feature was produced by Uttarakhand-based Silvercord Films, with Khan & Kumar Media as co-producer. Shaunak Sen, director of All That Breathes, serves as executive producer. The project drew backing from the Red Sea Fund, Visions Sud Est, Take Ten, the Netflix Fund for Creative Equity, India, and Film Companion Studios.
