Empire Debuts New Dune: Part Three Images With Anya Taylor-Joy's Alia
Exclusive photos show Anya Taylor-Joy's adult Alia Atreides beside Timothée Chalamet's Paul and Zendaya's Chani ahead of the Dec. 18, 2026 release.
Empire magazine has published new exclusive images from Dune: Part Three, including one showing Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides standing alongside the film's central players, positioned next to Timothée Chalamet's Paul Atreides. Another image shows Zendaya's Chani.
The photos point to an expanded role for Taylor-Joy in the film. Alia Atreides is depicted as an adult in Dune: Part Three rather than the teenager of the source material, a change tied to the story's 17-year time jump.
Director Denis Villeneuve told Empire the film has the same DNA as a Dune movie but is very different, with different pacing and characters changed by a totally changed world. Chalamet described it as its own beast, its own story, its own siege, its own hail of paranoid isolation.
A story drawn from Dune: Messiah
Dune: Part Three draws from Frank Herbert's Dune: Messiah. Villeneuve previously directed Dune: Part One in 2021 and Dune: Part Two in 2024, following the original Dune novel, published in 1965.
Dune: Part Three arrives in theaters on Dec. 18, 2026.
