Johnny Depp's Scrooge Gets a Venmo Account Ahead of Ebenezer

Fans can send money requests to the account and get a one-cent reply, three weeks before the film opens on November 13, 2026.

A promotional Venmo account for Ebenezer Scrooge, the character played by Johnny Depp in the film Ebenezer, has been launched ahead of the movie's theatrical release, according to comingsoon.net. Fans can send money requests to the account.

The film's official X account posted on October 22, 2026, that Ebenezer Scrooge is now on Venmo and invited fans to send a request. A video attached to the post shows a user asking for $500 for student loans and receiving a transfer of just $0.01, with the message "Generosity has its limits."

The promotion went live three weeks before Ebenezer opens in theaters on November 13, 2026. No update was given on when Scrooge's Venmo account would shut down.

The cast includes Rupert Grint, Tramell Tillman, Andrea Riseborough, Sam Claflin, Daisy Ridley, Arthur Conti, Ellie Bamber, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Charlie Murphy and Ian McKellen. Emma Watts produces, with Ti West, Adam Bohling, David Reid, Stephen Deuters, Jason Forman, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro and Andrew Lary serving as executive producers.
