Edi Gathegi has joined the cast of Universal Pictures' Miami Vice '85 in a key role, the studio confirmed. He will play a small-time crook with big-time ambitions who finds himself in over his head.
The film is eyeing a November production start, with shooting planned in New York and Miami. It will be shot for Imax and is set for release on May 19, 2028.
Gathegi joins a cast that already includes Michael B. Jordan, Austin Butler, Alden Ehrenreich, Whitney Peak, Camila Morrone, Danny Ramirez, John Leguizamo and Andrew Shulz. Joseph Kosinski, who directed Top Gun: Maverick and F1, is directing.
