Jurassic Outpost confirmed the one-minute promo for Universal Cartoon Studios' scrapped animated series is authentic, using earlier production material.
A one-minute pitch trailer for Escape from Jurassic Park, an animated Jurassic Park series that was never produced, has surfaced online and been verified as authentic. The fan site Jurassic Outpost confirmed the promo's authenticity using previously discovered production material, according to firstshowing.net.
The trailer was made by Universal Cartoon Studios and is set in the same Jurassic Park story on Isla Nublar. The series was overseen by Will Meugniot, with a visual style developed by William Stout, and a full season of 23 episodes was outlined.
The pitch film included CGI elements created by MetroLight.
The project dates back to the 1990s. In the summer of 1993, the studio began work on an animated spin-off after Jurassic Park became a hit in theaters. The series never left development; a 23-episode season was outlined, but Steven Spielberg reportedly showed no interest in continuing it.
