The show first debuted in March 1999 on Fox and ended its initial run in 2003 after four seasons. Four hour-and-a-half movies followed on home video and were later split into episodes, counted as the show's fifth season. Futurama then returned on Comedy Central for a sixth season in 2010 and aired new episodes there through 2013, before coming back in 2023 with a deal with Hulu.
