Gladiator Hits Netflix in October 2026
Ridley Scott's Gladiator, the film that launched his run with Russell Crowe, joins Netflix's streaming lineup in October 2026.
Ridley Scott's Gladiator is set to arrive on Netflix in October 2026, according to Collider. The film joins the streaming service's lineup more than two decades after its original theatrical release.
Gladiator is described as a highly contentious entry in the shared filmography of Scott and star Russell Crowe, a collaboration that also produced Gladiator II.
An Uneasy Partnership
In the 2000s, Scott and Crowe worked together on a string of well-received movies, beginning with Gladiator and ending with Robin Hood. In recent months, however, the two have traded snarky comments about one another, suggesting a falling out.
Both have remained active separately. Scott directed The Martian with Matt Damon in 2015, while Crowe headlined Noah for director Darren Aronofsky.
In September 2025, Crowe appeared in The Weight, released in theaters, and Unabomber, which debuted on Netflix. The Weight became his highest-rated movie on Rotten Tomatoes in nearly three decades but stalled short of the $5 million mark at the box office. That same month, Scott delivered one of his biggest-ever bombs, the sci-fi film The Dog Stars, which grossed less than $15 million domestically against a reported budget of around $100 million.
