Gladiator Finds New Streaming Life on Paramount+
Ridley Scott's Oscar-winning epic Gladiator is reaching a new audience on Paramount+, decades after its original release.
Gladiator has become a streaming hit on Paramount+, giving Ridley Scott's historical epic a fresh audience on the platform.
The film's resurgence arrives years after its original run. In 2000, Russell Crowe and Scott teamed up for Gladiator, which won five Oscars and grossed over $460 million worldwide.
Crowe has stayed busy in the years since. In 2025, he starred in Nuremberg, a WWII legal thriller. In 2026, he led the MMA thriller Beast, which earned only a few million before going VOD exclusive.
That same year, Crowe's action movie The Get Out found more success on VOD than its predecessor, spending a few weeks in the top 10 on platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV. His film The Weight, co-starring Ethan Hawke, came to theaters in 2026 and has collected $2 million at the box office so far.
