Glass Eye Pix Sets One-Day Pop-Up Store for 40th Anniversary
Glass Eye Pix Palooza-Con runs November 7 at Ideal Glass Studios in Manhattan, with Blu-rays, VHS rarities, props and a live audio drama.
Glass Eye Pix has announced Glass Eye Pix Palooza-Con (GEP-CON), a one-day brick-and-mortar store event in Manhattan marking the production company's 40th anniversary. The event takes place on November 7 at Ideal Glass Studios, 9 West 8th Street, and runs from noon until 11:00 PM, according to Bloody Disgusting.
The pop-up will sell Glass Eye Pix films on Blu-Ray and 4K from Vinegar Syndrome and Dark Sky Films, along with VHS tapes and rarities. Also on offer are Blu-Rays from a new Glass Eye Pix video label featuring early work by Ti West, James Felix McKenney and Graham Reznick, plus scores on CD and vinyl, including those of founder Larry Fessenden's band Just Desserts.
The store will feature curated displays of costumes and props from Glass Eye Pix films going back to the 1990s, and will stock new t-shirts and handcrafted Wendigo figurines sculpted by James Felix McKenney.
The Damned and the Dangerous, a one-shot graphic novel by Glenn McQuaid and Ted Geoghegan illustrated by Brahm Revel, debuts at the event. The evening closes with a live performance of a new episode of the audio drama Tales from Beyond the Pale.
GEP-CON coincides with the IFC Center's Optic Nerve: A Tribute to Glass Eye Pix screening series, which runs from October 28 through November 3 and features work by Ti West, Jim Mickle, Glenn McQuaid and Fessenden. Fessenden founded Glass Eye Pix, which is marking 40 years.
