Glen Powell has reportedly exited Amazon's upcoming sci-fi film Tesseract, directed by Sam Esmail. Sources say Powell had concerns about the script, and despite efforts to resolve them, the situation was not sorted out.

Esmail had believed Powell was locked in to star in the project. When issues arose, Esmail turned to CAA chief Bryan Lourd for help, but the talks failed to keep Powell on board. Esmail subsequently left CAA for WME.

Powell broke out in Top Gun: Maverick (2022) and has since starred in Anyone But You (2023), Hit Man and Twisters (both 2024), The Running Man (2025), and How to Make a Killing (2026). His upcoming films include The Comeback King and The Great Beyond (both 2027).

Esmail created Mr. Robot (2015–2019) and wrote and directed Leave the World Behind (2023). The news was first reported by Screen Rant.
