Godzilla-0.0 Red Carpet Held in Tokyo Ahead of November 3 Release
Minami Hamabe and Masami Nagasawa appeared together at the Tokyo event, with Hamabe saying nerves hit her over acting alongside her agency senior.
A red carpet event for the film Godzilla-0.0 was held on 19 October at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya and the KK Line Ginza-Yurakucho area in Tokyo, with the cast and director Takashi Yamazaki in attendance, according to cinematoday.jp.
Minami Hamabe, who plays Noriko, wife of protagonist Koichi Shikishima, took part alongside Ryunosuke Kamiki, Yuki Yamada, Kuranosuke Sasaki, Mio Tanaka, Masami Nagasawa and Min Tanaka. Yamazaki directed the film and also serves as screenwriter and VFX supervisor.
Hamabe said she was more nervous than at any other event because she appeared next to Masami Nagasawa, her senior at their agency. She also said she stumbled badly over her words during the stage greeting held earlier.
Nagasawa, who plays weather forecaster Makoto Aoyama, a character new to this film, said she was happy to stand next to Hamabe, whom she has known since Hamabe was young.
Release plans
Godzilla-0.0 opens nationwide in Japan on 3 November. Yamazaki previously directed, wrote and handled VFX for Godzilla-1.0; the new story is set two years after Godzilla attacked postwar Japan, as people had begun to regain their everyday lives.
