Toho posts Godzilla Minus One recap ahead of Minus Zero
The 2-minute-40-second digest arrived on the Toho Movie Channel in advance of Godzilla Minus Zero's November 3 release.
Toho released a 2-minute-40-second recap digest of Godzilla Minus One on the Toho Movie Channel on YouTube and other outlets on October 16, according to cinematoday.jp. The video is positioned as a "preparation video" for Godzilla Minus Zero, which opens on November 3.
The digest condenses the key beats of the previous film: the meeting of Koichi Shikishima and Noriko, the fierce battle with Godzilla, and the efforts of the comrades who carried out a life-risking operation.
It also includes Noriko's appearance in the much-discussed final scene, a signal that she will be an important presence in the sequel. Minami Hamabe plays Noriko; Ryūnosuke Kamiki plays Shikishima.
Godzilla Minus One was released in 2023 and depicts a Japan just after the end of the war being pushed from zero to minus by Godzilla. Godzilla Minus Zero is set two years after that deadly battle, with Takashi Yamazaki returning as director, screenwriter and VFX artist.
Television run before the sequel
Godzilla Minus One is scheduled to air uncut on Nippon TV's Friday Road Show on October 30 from 9:00 pm to 11:34 pm as a 40-minute extended broadcast.
