Godzilla Minus Zero Moves Up to November 3 for Godzilla Day

Toho's Godzilla Minus Zero will now open on November 3, 2026, three days earlier than planned, to mark Godzilla Day.

Godzilla Minus Zero has been given an early release date of November 3, 2026, moving up from its original November 6 date so that it coincides with Godzilla Day, according to Screen Rant.

The film is the first Japanese production to be natively filmed and shot for IMAX. It currently holds a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 35 reviews.

Director Takashi Yamazaki previously directed the 2023 film Godzilla Minus One, which won the franchise's first Academy Award for Best Visual Effects and grossed $116 million worldwide. At the time, it became the third-highest grossing foreign-language film in U.S. box office history.

Godzilla was created in 1954 by the Japanese studio Toho as a metaphor for the atomic bombings and the dangers of nuclear weapons.
