Hammer's 1958 Dracula 4K Restoration Opens in 144 UK Cinemas

A 4K restoration of Hammer's 1958 film Dracula is opening in more than 144 UK cinemas this week, according to Variety.
The restored film will then be released in the US as Horror of Dracula later this month, following a premiere at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles.
Hammer and John Gore Studios are supporting The Horror Show, a recently launched exhibition at the Academy Museum. In January, the museum will celebrate the history of Hammer.
John Gore acquired Hammer Films in late 2023, and John Gore Studios was formally announced in early 2025. The studio is producing The Return of Stanley Atwell, starring Nicholas Galitzine and Ella Purnell, and The Duchess, starring Joan Collins and Isabella Rossellini.
Restoration work continues
Hammer has previously released a 4K home entertainment version of Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter, and last year a 4K restoration of The Curse of Frankenstein had a theatrical release. The restoration of Dracula was handled by Silver Salt Restoration and KFilm.
