Hexed Directors Say Rigid Framing Was Intentional After Teaser Backlash
Fawn Veerasunthorn and Jason Hand say the tight framing reflects Billie's arc, and that many shots are withheld as spoilers.
The co-directors of Disney's animated film Hexed said the rigid framing of its early footage was a deliberate choice tied to the story of lead character Billie, according to movieweb.com. The comments follow social media criticism of the first teaser's look.
Co-directors Fawn Veerasunthorn and Jason Hand said the tight, constrained framing represents Billie's arc from limitation and rigidity before the film opens up. The new trailer shows more of Billie and the realm of Hexe.
Hand added that many shots are being held back because they would be too spoilery.
The first teaser for Hexed arrived in June 2026 and drew accusations on social media that the cinematography was built around vertical video.
Hexed is slated to hit theaters on November 25, 2026.
