Hugh Laurie has joined the cast of HBO's limited series The Trial of Louise Woodward, according to Deadline. He will play Judge Hiller B. Zobel of the Massachusetts Superior Court.
Catriona Chandler stars in the title role as Louise Woodward, the 18-year-old British au pair accused in 1997 of shaking to death a baby in her care. The cast also includes Joanne Froggatt as Louise's mother Susan, Meghann Fahy and Sagar Radia as Deborah and Sunil Eappen, and Chloë Sevigny as defense attorney Elaine Whitfield Sharp.
Matthew Barry created the series and serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer. Susanne Bier directs all episodes and executive produces. Big Light Productions and Anton TV are the production companies.
Laurie's upcoming slate includes the Peacock comedy Dig with Amy Poehler, premiering November 23, and Apple TV's The Wanted Man, which he executive produces and stars in, premiering January 6. He will also appear in the BBC and MGM+ limited series Legacy of Spies.
