Hunger Games Prequel Cast Attends U.K. Launch in London
Elle Fanning, Kieran Culkin and Mckenna Grace joined the Sunrise on the Reaping cast at Westfield for the film's U.K. launch event, according to hollywoodreporter.com.
The cast of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping attended the film's U.K. launch event at Westfield shopping centre in London on a Wednesday night, according to hollywoodreporter.com.
The event featured a cornucopia display and a purple carpet, with tapestries showing Ralph Fiennes as President Snow reading "Panem's No. 1 Peacekeeper."
The film is the sixth in the franchise, based on Suzanne Collins' book of the same name and directed by Francis Lawrence. It follows the second Quarter Quell, in which Haymitch — played by Joseph Zada in the prequel — is sent into the arena with twice as many children.
Elle Fanning plays Effie Trinket, Kieran Culkin plays Caesar Flickerman, Mckenna Grace plays Maysilee Donner, Jesse Plemons plays Plutarch Heavensbee and Whitney Peak plays Lenore Dove.
Culkin said he found a different take on Caesar Flickerman that he believes connects to Stanley Tucci's portrayal. Fanning said she texted Elizabeth Banks about how to make Effie her own, and Banks gave her blessing. Grace said the fanbase's positive response to her casting as Maysilee eased some of the pressure.
Jennifer Lawrence did not make a surprise appearance at the London event.
