I Am Legend Hits Tubi Free on November 1, 2026

I Am Legend will begin streaming for free on Tubi on November 1, 2026, according to movieweb.com. The 2007 film starring Will Smith arrives on the free, ad-supported platform as its sequel continues to take shape.

I Am Legend 2 is moving forward as a direct sequel to the 2007 original. The film will make the first movie's alternate ending canon, which keeps Will Smith's character Robert Neville alive.

Michael B. Jordan will star alongside Will Smith in the sequel, with Steven Caple Jr. directing. No release date for I Am Legend 2 has been set.

Older history behind the sequel

I Am Legend was released in 2007 and grossed $585 million worldwide against a $150 million production budget. It drew solid reviews, holding 68% on Rotten Tomatoes from both critics and audiences.

A follow-up has been in development since as far back as 2008. In 2025, Will Smith said Michael B. Jordan's character will be another survivor and the head of a new settlement in Connecticut, not Robert Neville's son. Akiva Goldsman, a writer and producer on the franchise, said a month ago that the team was doing everything it could to get I Am Legend 2 made.
