IDW Announces Event Horizon: Pandemonium, Final Comic in Trilogy

IDW Publishing is set to release Event Horizon: Pandemonium, the third and final book in its Event Horizon comic trilogy. The publisher has shared writer Christian Ward's cover for the first issue.

The book is written by Christian Ward and drawn by Hernan Gonzalez. IDW's solicitation describes the crew of the starship Event Horizon awakening in a prison they do not remember entering, where their trauma is given life.

The protagonist of Pandemonium is Emma Kwon, a physicist studying the Event Horizon's case. The story intertwines the past of Sir Isaac Newton with Kwon's present, and also features Queen Anne of Britain seeking to use the Gravity Drive to resurrect her brother. Previous unlettered preview pages for Pandemonium showed Newton with Hezarfen Ahmed Celebi.

The announcement follows IDW's earlier deal with Paramount Pictures to bring horror franchises including Event Horizon to comics. IDW has so far released two Event Horizon miniseries: Dark Descent and Inferno.

The film Event Horizon, directed by Paul WS Anderson and starring Sam Neill, Laurence Fishburne and Jason Isaacs, was released nearly 30 years ago and became a cult classic despite negative critical reception.
