Iman Vellani Says The Last Stand Failed by Killing Off Scott Summers Early

On the Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast, Vellani argued the Phoenix Saga needed three or four films.

Iman Vellani said on the Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast that X-Men: The Last Stand failed by killing off James Marsden's Scott Summers early in the film, according to gamesradar.com.

Vellani argued that the Phoenix Saga should have been spread across three or four movies rather than being crammed into a single film alongside the Cure storyline. In her view, making Jean Grey's story secondary doomed the movie.

The 2006 Fox film, X-Men: The Last Stand, adapted the Dark Phoenix Saga and the Cure storyline together in one movie.

Vellani has also rated the X-Men films on her Letterboxd account, giving The Last Stand 2.5, X-Men 2 2.5, and 2000's X-Men 3.5.
