Inde Navarrette says she teased Rogue casting before D23 reveal

The actor said she named Mystique as a dream role on purpose, knowing she had been cast as Rogue in Marvel's X-Men.

Inde Navarrette said she had been dropping hints about her casting as Rogue in X-Men before the announcement was made at D23, according to gamesradar.com. The actor described deliberately steering speculation in another direction in the run-up to the reveal.

Navarrette said that when she previously named Mystique as a dream role, she already knew she would be playing Rogue, and used the answer as a misdirect. She added that Mystique and Rogue are very similar.

The casting was confirmed at D23. Navarrette will appear in X-Men alongside Sadie Sink, Kit Connor, Adam Driver and Christopher Abbott.

Jake Schreier is directing the film, which is set to reach theatres on May 5, 2028.

In July, Navarrette revealed she had taken a meeting with Schreier. Before the official announcement at D23, she told Variety that Mystique had always been a dream role of hers.
