James Gunn Shares Body Horror Watchlist for Clayface
The DC co-CEO posted a list of horror films on Threads, from Cronenberg classics to his own Slither, as Clayface is described as straight horror.
James Gunn shared a list of body horror movies on Threads, according to gamesradar.com. The DC co-CEO posted the films as a primer for viewers ahead of Clayface, the DCU movie he has described as a straight-up horror film rather than a horror-superhero hybrid.
The list includes David Cronenberg's Shivers, The Brood, The Fly and Videodrome, along with Invasion of the Body Snatchers, John Carpenter's The Thing, Guillermo del Toro's Cronos and Gunn's own Slither.
What Clayface Is About
Clayface follows Hollywood actor Matt Hagen, played by Tom Rhys Harries, who gets involved with a mobster's girlfriend and has his face cut up, ending his career. He then undergoes an experimental treatment from doctor Caitlin Bates, played by Naomi Ackie, with unexpected results.
James Watkins directs Clayface from a screenplay by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini. David Dencik, Max Minghella and Eddie Marsan also star.
