KBS2's new epic drama Munmu (working title) premieres on November 14, with Jang Hyuk starring as Goguryeo general Yeon Gaesomun, according to cinemacafe.net.
Yeon Gaesomun led Goguryeo's forces against a large Tang army. Jo Sung-ha also appears in the drama as Go Geon-mu.
Jang Hyuk said he took the role because of the multifaceted appeal of Yeon Gaesomun, describing the figure as a leader, a human being and a dreamer.
He said every moment of playing the role was difficult, and that he decided the emotions scene by scene rather than mapping them out in advance. He named the strategies of Three and Tang as a highlight of the drama.
