Jenna Ortega Says She Will Likely Leave TV After Wednesday Ends
Ortega told GamesRadar she expects to step away from television once the Netflix series wraps, with season 3 still undated.
Jenna Ortega said she will probably be off television for a while once Netflix's Wednesday comes to an end, according to gamesradar.com. The actor, who plays Wednesday Addams, made the comment while discussing her plans beyond the series.
Ortega said she has not had many franchise conversations and expects what she is meant to do next to find her, rather than mapping it out in advance. Her next screen appearance will be in Taika Waititi's Klara and the Sun.
On Wednesday itself, season 3 will see Wednesday enter her junior year. Eva Green, Winona Ryder and Lena Headey are joining the cast for the new season, which does not yet have a release date.
The series debuted on Netflix in 2022 and became an unexpectedly massive hit, and it remains the second most-watched English-language series on the platform. Its first season received two Golden Globe nominations, including Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy and Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy for Ortega.
Season 2 ended on a cliffhanger involving a dark secret harbored by the Addams family. Before Wednesday, Ortega starred in Jane the Virgin and Disney's Stuck in the Middle.
