Jeremy Renner Shares West Coast Avengers Comics, Sparking MCU Speculation
The Hawkeye actor posted several issues of The West Coast Avengers on his Instagram Story with no caption, and Marvel has not announced any adaptation.
Jeremy Renner, who plays Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, shared an image of several issues of The West Coast Avengers comic-book series on his Instagram Story. The actor posted the image without a caption, according to comingsoon.net, prompting speculation among fans about a possible MCU adaptation of the team.
Marvel has not made any official announcement regarding a West Coast Avengers movie or show. The comics team was founded by Hawkeye and first appeared in The West Coast Avengers #1, published in 1984.
The speculation arrives as Marvel Studios charts its next saga. In July 2025, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed to GamesRadar that the three phases of the MCU's next saga are "already well into development." He has also indicated that the X-Men will play a central role in that saga.
Feige has teased that Avengers: Secret Wars will "establish a streamlined, simplified, single universe that audiences can keep up with." The MCU's ongoing Phase Six within The Multiverse Saga is set to end with the release of Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027.
