JK Media Produces First U.S. Microdramas for ViXMicrO

JK Media has developed and produced the first original microdramas in the U.S. for TelevisaUnivision's ViXMicrO, the companies announced. The two Spanish-language series, Trapped with the Enemy (Encerrada con el enemigo) and Threatened Infidelity (Infidelidad amenazada), were shot in Los Angeles and are slated to premiere in October.

Each series consists of 60 episodes running 90 seconds each and will be available in Mexico and the U.S. Fernanda Romero stars in both microdramas. Suanny Serpas and comedian Concrete also appear in Threatened Infidelity, while Liliana Arriaga makes a special appearance in Trapped with the Enemy.

Sebastian Jimenez and Flavio Morales executive produce both series, with Sergio Jablon as writer.

ViXMicrO launched last year and features short-form scripted series designed for vertical, mobile-first viewing. According to Omdia, the microdrama format generated global revenues of $11 billion last year and is expected to hit $14 billion by the end of 2026. Madrid-based confab Iberseries & Platino Industria, running Sept. 29 – Oct 2, has programmed events around the format.

JK Media recently launched Ninel Conde: Sin Filtro with ViX and produced the pay-per-view live broadcast of Gloria Trevi: Live from BMO Stadium, streamed with VEEPS. The company is also behind titles such as Chiquis Sin Filtro, La Trevi Sin Filtro, Chiquis' Foodie on the Go and Larrymania.
