Cena Says Peacemaker Helmet Stays Off Unless Gunn Calls
John Cena says he hasn't worn Peacemaker's steel helmet since season 2 ended, but told James Gunn he'll wear it as long as Gunn needs him.
John Cena says he has not put on Peacemaker's steel helmet since the end of the show's second season. In an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Cena said he told James Gunn he would wear the helmet for as long as Gunn needs him to.
Gunn, the showrunner of Peacemaker and co-CEO of DC Studios, said on Peacemaker: The Official Podcast that the season 2 finale may be the final episode of the series. He also said on that podcast that "Peacemaker will be back," though not necessarily as a television show, and that the characters will appear in the future of the DCU "not too long" from now.
Season 2 began with Chris Smith doubting his place in his friends' lives. It ended with Rick Flag Sr. kidnapping Chris and dropping him on an alien prison planet for metahumans, leaving the story on a cliffhanger.
Gunn's DC Studios slate also includes Superman, which was released to strong commercial results, and Supergirl, which drew a critical disappointment. Superman: Man of Tomorrow is ahead for Gunn.
