Yun Ga-eun's 'Ju-in wa Ringo ga Kirai' unveils poster and trailer

The Japanese release is set for December 11, with praise from Bong Joon-ho and Greta Lee featured in the trailer.

A poster visual and trailer for Yun Ga-eun's film 'Ju-in wa Ringo ga Kirai' have been unveiled ahead of its Japanese release, according to cinemacafe.net. The film is set to open in Japan on December 11 at Human Trust Cinema Yurakucho, Bunkamura Le Cinema Shibuya Miyashita and other theaters nationwide.

The poster visual carries the copy 'Which is the real you?' and shows Ju-in gazing straight ahead. The trailer opens with people around Ju-in asking why she dislikes apples, and her answer is not revealed. It closes with the line 'This is someone's story. And your story.' The trailer begins with director Yun Ga-eun's message asking viewers to watch without prior knowledge.

The trailer and poster include comments from filmmakers and actors: 'Masterpiece' from Bong Joon-ho and 'A perfect film' from Greta Lee. Eleven still photos from the film were also unveiled.

The film sparked a 'no spoilers' challenge in Korea at the time of its release. It was officially selected for the competition section of the 50th Toronto International Film Festival, the first Korean film to do so, and has been invited to and won awards at more than 20 film festivals worldwide.
