Lanterns Season 2 Reportedly in Early Development
Co-creator Damon Lindelof confirmed early development, while DC Studios has not officially announced a second season.
Damon Lindelof, co-creator of Lanterns, confirmed that a second season is in early development, according to Collider. DC Studios has not officially confirmed whether the series will continue.
Showrunner Chris Mundy said that any idea from Season 1 is fair game to expand on in a potential Season 2. The comments leave open the possibility that story threads introduced in the first season could be revisited if the show returns.
The Lanterns Season 1 finale set up the idea that two Lanterns could exist in the story at the same time. During Season 1, John Stewart took up the mantle of Earth's Green Lantern.
Sinestro was left alone on Antaan's planet and has not yet created the Yellow Lanterns, a thread that remains unresolved.
Separately, DC Studios has confirmed that John Stewart and Guy Gardner will appear in Man of Tomorrow.
What's next for Lanterns
Whether the series continues beyond its first season remains unconfirmed by DC Studios. No release details for a potential second season have been announced.
