Lindelof: New Writers Room Already Working on Lanterns Season 2
Damon Lindelof says a new writers' room is developing ideas for Lanterns Season 2, even as he exits as showrunner and HBO stays silent on a renewal.
Damon Lindelof has confirmed that a new writers' room is already developing ideas for a potential second season of Lanterns, even as he exits the project as showrunner. He shared the update in an interview with Collider.
HBO has not officially announced a renewal for Lanterns. The first season wrapped up last night.
The series stars Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, based on the DC Comics characters.
The confirmation follows unverified reports that circulated in the days before the finale. In October 2025, Lindelof was still attached to the project as showrunner, a role he has now stepped away from.
