Lanterns Showrunner Teases Kilowog for Potential Season 2
Chris Mundy says a second season would likely stay Earth-based, and notes Vanessa Baden Kelly has long wanted to include Kilowog. HBO has not renewed the series.
Chris Mundy, showrunner of HBO's Lanterns, has teased that a fan-favorite Green Lantern such as Kilowog could appear in a potential second season. According to gamesradar.com, Mundy also said a second season would most likely continue as an Earth-based story.
Mundy said Vanessa Baden Kelly, a producer and writer on the series, has long talked about including Kilowog. HBO has not yet renewed Lanterns for a second season.
What a Second Season Could Look Like
The comments point to a possible direction rather than a confirmed plan. Mundy described the Earth-based approach as the most likely path for a second season, while the Kilowog idea was framed as something Baden Kelly has discussed over time.
Kilowog was first introduced in DC Comics in 1986 as the Green Lantern of Sector 674 from the planet Bolovax Vik, and the show has already brought in Sinestro, a Lantern from another planet. Following the Lanterns season finale, HBO has yet to renew the record-breaking DCU show for a second season.
