Gabriel Luna: Bella Ramsey Is 'the General' on The Last of Us Season 3 Set

Luna said the third season, now shooting, shifts among multiple perspectives and adapts the second half of The Last of Us Part II.

Bella Ramsey has become the on-set leader of The Last of Us Season 3, Gabriel Luna said in an interview, describing their co-star as "the general" of the production. Luna also confirmed that the third season is currently shooting, according to comingsoon.net.

Luna said the new season shifts among multiple perspectives, an aspect familiar to players of the game. The season adapts the second half of The Last of Us Part II, which moves the focus to Abby's storyline.

Kaitlyn Dever leads the season as Abby alongside returning cast members Isabela Merced, Young Mazino and Jeffrey Wright. Pedro Pascal's presence in the third season is reduced.

HBO renewed the series for a third season in April 2025, ahead of the second season's premiere. In July 2025, Neil Druckmann stepped away to focus on work at Naughty Dog, leaving Craig Mazin as sole showrunner.

Principal photography began in British Columbia in March 2026 and is planned to wrap in November. HBO expects the third season to air in 2027.
