Lee Child Reveals Three Possible Endings for Jack Reacher Books
The author told USA Today that one scrapped ending, titled Die Lonely, would have Reacher sacrifice himself to save a stranger.
Lee Child, author of the Jack Reacher novels, has shared three possible endings for the book series in an interview with USA Today. One of the endings comes from a scrapped project titled Die Lonely.
According to Child, that ending would see Reacher sacrifice himself to save a stranger. A second option simply stops with Reacher boarding a bus without revealing his destination. A third has Reacher decide to stay in one place, adopt a dog and rent an apartment.
The endings are hypothetical conclusions for the novel series, not announced plans for a new book. Child has written 31 Jack Reacher novels, which have sold over 100 million copies.
Separately, Prime Video has renewed its Reacher series starring Alan Ritchson. The spin-off Neagley returns for Season 2 on the same platform.
