DC's preview for Legion of Super-Heroes #2 shows Matter-Eater Lad eating a Persuader's helmet and dangerous chemicals ahead of the October 14, 2026 release.
DC has previewed Legion of Super-Heroes #2, showing Matter-Eater Lad eating a Persuader's helmet and then chewing dangerous chemicals to perform a trick he learned from a friend on Shwar, according to screenrant.com. The issue is scheduled for release on October 14, 2026.
The ongoing series is written by Joshua Williamson with art by Hayden Sherman and colors by Tamra Bonvillain; Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou letters the book. Matter-Eater Lad is the Legion member Tenzil Kem, a Bismollian who can consume virtually any material.
The new preview builds on the series' first issue, in which Matter-Eater Lad bit through a safe door made of valorium and through Persuaders. The solicitation for issue #2 sets the Persuaders after the murderer of RJ Brande, while Brainiac 1 of 5 works alongside Matter-Eater Lad.
Long-running Legion setting
The Legion of Super-Heroes is set 1000 years after Superboy's DC era. In issue #1, the United Planets declared it illegal to use superpowers to fight crime after the Great Disaster.
