Mary Louise Weller, the actress who played Mandy Pepperidge in the 1978 comedy Animal House, died Thursday at age 79 after a brief illness, her longtime partner Michael Roy Curtis announced. Her death came one day before her birthday.
Weller was born in New York on Oct. 2, 1946, and raised in Westwood from about age 10. Danny Kaye was her godfather. Before acting, she worked as a Ford model and was a longtime spokesperson for Jean Naté fragrance.
In Animal House, directed by John Landis, she portrayed Mandy Pepperidge. That same year, 1978, she also appeared in the NBC telefilm Hunters of the Reef and the horror movie The Evil. Her other credits include an uncredited role in Serpico (1973), The Bell Jar (1979), Forced Vengeance (1982) and a small role in Q (1982), written and directed by Larry Cohen. Her final onscreen credit was a 1983 episode of Quincy, M.E.
