Megalopolis Returns to Theaters October 24 With Live Coppola Q&A

Reading International will screen Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis nationwide on October 24, 2026, followed by a livestreamed Q&A with the director.

Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis will return to theaters for a limited engagement on October 24, 2026, its first time back on the big screen since its 2024 release. Reading International Inc. has booked the film in cinemas across the United States, from New York to Hawaii, for simultaneous screenings, according to Deadline.

The October 24 screenings will be followed by a livestreamed Q&A with Coppola, moderated by Roman Coppola. Audience members will be able to text questions before, during and after the film for Coppola to answer live.

Each screening will include hard-copy letters from Coppola containing his official director's statement and the film's unique "Live Element."

An Ongoing Run

Megalopolis will continue screening in theaters periodically, including every New Year's Day.

Coppola self-financed and shot the film, deciding it would not be put through domestic streaming services or U.S. DVDs. He spent a fortune to personally stake the film, making it one of the most expensive indies ever. Its ensemble cast is headed by Adam Driver, Shia LaBeouf, Dustin Hoffman, Jon Voight, Nathalie Emmanuel, Laurence Fishburne, Aubrey Plaza and Giancarlo Esposito.
