DC Gives Mister Miracle New Codename Highfather

Scott Free takes on the Highfather role while New Genesis is occupied in DC All-In Saga: The New Gods #1, from writers Ram V and Alex Paknadel.

DC Comics is giving Mister Miracle a new codename: Highfather. The change comes in DC All-In Saga: The New Gods #1, written by Ram V and Alex Paknadel with art by Joan Urgell, according to screenrant.com.

In the story, Scott Free takes on the role of Highfather while New Genesis is occupied by sinister alien forces.

The issue follows the recently concluded 12-issue New Gods miniseries by Ram V and Evan Cagle, and features variant covers by Dustin Nguyen, Javi Fernandez and others.

The Highfather mantle has history at DC: Izaya held the title before Scott Free, while the Mister Miracle identity itself has passed through several hands. Jack Kirby created the character, and Thaddeus Brown was the first to use the name, followed later by Shilo Norman as the third Mister Miracle.

On screen, a new adult animated series from DC Studios based on Tom King and Mitch Gerards' Mister Miracle is in the works. That 2017 title, a 12-issue series from the pair, was a critical hit for DC.
