MK2 Films Adds Corbet, Mendonça Filho, Sciamma Shorts to Sales Slate
MK2 Films has picked up international sales rights to short films by Brady Corbet, Kleber Mendonça Filho and Céline Sciamma, unveiled at Lyon's Lumière Film Festival.
MK2 Films is adding short films by Brady Corbet, Kleber Mendonça Filho and Céline Sciamma to its international sales catalogue, according to variety.com. The acquisitions were unveiled during Lyon's Lumière Film Festival and its International Classic Film Market (MIFC).
The acquired shorts range from Brady Corbet's 'Protect You + Me' to Céline Sciamma's 'Tutti Frutti' and Kleber Mendonça Filho's 'South of Tehran'. They join Jia Zhangke's 'Torino Shadow' in the company's short-film catalogue.
MK2 Films head of collections Frédérique Rouault said the shorts create a dialogue with the feature films of filmmakers in the MK2 Films collection.
Provenance of the acquisitions
The label's catalogue also includes early works by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, including 'Le Chant du Rossignol'. In October 2026, MK2 Films announced a deal with Les Films du Fleuve, the Dardenne brothers' production company, through which it acquired those early works.
Among the newly acquired titles, Sciamma's 44-minute 'Tutti Frutti' was commissioned by the Centre Pompidou and produced by Lilies Films, premiered in Paris in June and won the Jury Prize at the 2026 Villa Medici Film Festival. Mendonça Filho's nine-minute 'South of Tehran' was shot during the 2025 New York Film Festival and premiered at the New York fest earlier this year as the inaugural NYFF Encounters project.
Corbet's short 'Protect You + Me' received an Honorable Mention at the Sundance Film Festival in 2009. Jia Zhangke's 'Torino Shadow' screened at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival and in the New York Film Festival's Spotlight Shorts program.
