Netflix Debuts First Trailer for Narnia: The Magician's Nephew
The trailer for Greta Gerwig's adaptation features Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer and is set to Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven."
Netflix released the first official trailer for "Narnia: The Magician's Nephew," directed by Greta Gerwig, the streaming service announced on October 13, 2026 according to Polygon.
The trailer introduces the film's protagonists, Digory Kirke, played by David McKenna, and Polly Plummer, played by Beatrice Campbell. Daniel Craig appears as Andrew Ketterley. The trailer is set to Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven."
The film adapts C.S. Lewis' novel and is set 1,000 years before "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe."
Release plans
"Narnia: The Magician's Nephew" will debut in IMAX globally on February 12, 2027, with early IMAX showings beginning February 10, 2027. It will stream on Netflix on April 2, 2027.
Netflix acquired the rights to C.S. Lewis' works in 2018. The film was previously expected to arrive in 2026, but Netflix delayed its release in May. Gerwig said earlier this year that she wanted the film to be a "rock opera." Previous live-action adaptations include "Prince Caspian" and "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," and "The Magician's Nephew" was previously adapted for the theater, radio, and in comic form.
