NBC is developing an untitled drama series based on the Finnish series 66th North Precinct, according to Deadline. The project comes from The Irrational creator and showrunner Arika Lisanne Mittman, Elevate Entertainment and Universal Television.

The series is described as a darkly comedic procedural about a former pro boxer who returns with her family to her southern Colorado hometown to work as a Sheriff's deputy.

The Finnish original, 66th North Precinct, premiered in 2023 and stars Saara Kotkaniemi as lead Maria Pujos. A second season aired last year.

The project marks another adaptation of an international format for the US market. Elevate Entertainment's ABC project The Undertaker, based on the Swiss police procedural Der Bestatte, was the company's first broadcast sale this season.

Mittman's track record

Mittman created and showran NBC's The Irrational, starring Jesse L. Martin, which ran for two seasons. She previously served as showrunner on Paradise Lost for Spectrum TV and NBC's Timeless, and as an executive producer on NBC's La Brea, with past credits including Dexter, Elementary and Tyrant.
