CBS Promo Shows Tony DiNozzo as NCIS Director
The promo for NCIS season 24, episode 2, "Clean Slate," shows Tony DiNozzo telling the team his job is to clear obstacles, while Jessica Knight throws away his coffee.
CBS released a promo for NCIS season 24, episode 2, titled "Clean Slate," according to Screen Rant. The promo shows Tony DiNozzo, played by Michael Weatherly, telling the team that their job is to solve cases while his job is to ensure no obstacles get in their way.
In the clip, Special Agent Jessica Knight throws away Tony DiNozzo's coffee, and a co-worker says it was his third of the day and that he is capped at one. Alden Parker also says, "This could be fun, actually."
The episode follows the NCIS season 24 premiere, which aired on October 6 and saw Tony DiNozzo become the director of the agency. The new role came after Secretary of the Navy Helen Marsh confronted him following a rocky start to Gabriel LaRoche's tenure as director. LaRoche had replaced Leon Vance after Vance's death, but only landed the position because Tony rejected an offer to take over.
Michael Weatherly was an original cast member on NCIS but left after 13 seasons. He later starred on the legal drama Bull, which aired for six seasons, and made a guest appearance in NCIS in 2024 before starring on the one-season spinoff NCIS: Tony & Ziva. It was announced over the summer that Weatherly would be returning to the original NCIS series for the 2026-2027 TV season.
