Netflix Orders Series Adaptation of Curtis Sittenfeld's Prep
Nicole Taylor will write and showrun the straight-to-series adaptation, with Will Ferrell attached and a writers' room set for January 2027.
Netflix has given a straight-to-series order to an adaptation of Curtis Sittenfeld's novel Prep, according to screenrant.com. Nicole Taylor will write the series and serve as showrunner.
Sittenfeld, who wrote the novel, is set as an executive producer on the project. Will Ferrell is also attached to the series.
The writers' room for Prep is scheduled to assemble in January 2027. Netflix has not announced a release date or cast for the adaptation.
An earlier attempt at HBO
Prep was published in 2005 and follows Lee Fiora at the elite Ault boarding school. Around 2016, HBO tried to develop its own TV adaptation with Colleen McGuinness and Carolyn Strauss attached, but the project never moved past development.
Taylor has said she had wanted to adapt Prep for 20 years. The order adds to Netflix's 2026 slate, which included One Piece season 2, The Gentlemen season 2 and The Diplomat season 4.
