Netflix's Unabomber Holds Global Top 10 for a Month Despite Poor Reviews
The crime film stays on Netflix's global top-10 chart a full month after launch, while Ben Affleck thriller Animals passes 50 million views in two weeks.
Netflix's crime film Unabomber has remained on the streamer's global top-10 chart for a full month, according to Collider. The film has drawn poor reviews over the same period.
Separately, Netflix's Ben Affleck thriller Animals has surpassed 50 million views in two weeks on the service.
The two titles arrive in a year in which Netflix has shifted from mega-budget tentpoles toward mid-budget genre films, per Collider's reporting. Earlier in 2026 the streamer released The Rip, followed by Apex, Thrash and War Machine, each passing 100 million views. The Last House has more than 90 million views and The Whisper Man more than 80 million.
The streamer has also recently carried out layoffs. Netflix did not make a third season of Mindhunter despite its popularity; creator David Fincher said the series was too expensive to justify its existence, and his contract with Netflix has ended.
