Obscured Releasing has acquired North American distribution rights to The Drug in Our Pocket, the documentary from director Anne Sundberg, ahead of its world premiere at the Hamptons International Film Festival in New York.
The film is expected to have an Oscar-qualifying run in fall 2026, followed by a limited theatrical release in early 2027.
Obscured Releasing was launched in 2025 by RJ Millard and Bill Guentzler, per deadline.com.
Sundberg is known for her collaborations with Ricki Stern, with whom she co-directed four films: The Trials of Darryl Hunt, Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work, The Devil Came on Horseback, and Reversing Roe.
