Olga Rabinovich Wins Inaugural Prêmio Encontros at São Paulo Fest
Olga Rabinovich will receive the first Prêmio Encontros at the São Paulo International Film Festival's Encontro de Ideias Audiovisuais on Oct. 14.
Olga Rabinovich has been named the inaugural recipient of the Prêmio Encontros (Encounters Award), to be presented at the Encontro de Ideias Audiovisuais, the industry platform of the São Paulo International Film Festival. The award will be handed out during the event's opening gala ceremony on Oct. 14.
The ceremony will be followed by an in-conversation event with Neon president Jeff Deutchman.
Rabinovich's ties to the festival run deep. In 2018, she founded the Olga Rabinovich Institute and launched Projeto Paradiso soon after. The institute was announced during the 42nd Mostra, and Projeto Paradiso's relationship with the São Paulo International Film Festival dates back to that same year.
Earlier this year, Variety interviewed Rabinovich ahead of the third Projeto Paradiso National Network Meeting in Recife.
In 2025, Projeto Paradiso teamed with the Embratur Brazilian Tourism Board to launch Screen Brasil, offering four Brazilian films a year across two calls. Screen Brasil was announced at the Cannes Marché du Film this May, and the latest call closed Oct. 2.
