Paddington The Musical Extends West End Run to June 2028

Sonia Friedman Productions adds more than a year at the Savoy Theatre after the show took seven prizes at the 2026 Olivier Awards.

Paddington The Musical has extended its London West End run at the Savoy Theatre until June 25, 2028, according to Deadline. The producers credited unprecedented ticket demand at the Savoy for the decision to keep the show running.

The extension follows a strong awards season for the production. In 2026 the musical won seven prizes at the Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical, Best Director for Luke Sheppard, and Best Actor in a musical for James Hameed and Arti Shah, who share the role of Paddington.

The stage show, produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, features music and lyrics by Tom Fletcher and a book by Jessica Swale. It is based on characters from Michael Bond's books, with a story inspired by the 2014 Paddington film.

Broadway and Sydney dates ahead

Beyond London, a Broadway staging is planned for March 2027 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, and a Sydney production is set for the Capitol Theatre in September 2027.

In June 2026, producers announced that the Broadway run would begin previews at the Al Hirschfeld on March 30, 2027, with an official opening on April 18, 2027. The musical first opened at the Savoy Theatre a year ago.
